Welcome to my blog
Hello my name is Anthony DiLaura, I am a mathematics instructor at Zeeland East High School in Zeeland Michigan. I am a father of three great kids and a husband of one rocking woman. In addition to teaching math, I coach soccer and act as a technology coach for my colleagues. I am a life long learner that loves to tinker around with new and old gadgets and gizmos. I view my job as an absolute privilege to inspire and influence the next generation. In 2011-2012 our high school adopted 1:1 iPads. These devices have transformed my classroom environment from a one-size-fits-all, teacher-centered setting to a dynamic, interactive, move-at-your-own-pace, student-centered learning environment. Students use the iPad to learn content, receive feedback, and engage in projects that further develop their understanding. This year I fully adopted the flipped classroom methodology and produced interactive textbooks for my students using iBooks Author.
In the winter of 2013 I was recognized as an Apple Distinguished Educator.
